Sermon Notes //

"Everything in its Time"

Eccl. 3:1-8

(try copying and pasting these into your note taking application if you want to take your own notes)

Time and God's Sovereignty

God has appointed a time for everything that happens.

God is not “one-dimensional.” If all we expect or demand from God is nothing but good, then we have a selfish view of him.

Time and Trusting Our Savior

Jesus knew the time for everything.

Time and the Way We Spend It

First, wait for God’s timing.
•It is not for us “to know the times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority” (Acts 1:7).
•Those “who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31)
•David- “I trust in you, O Lord.… My times are in your hand” (Psalm 31:14–15).

Second, live your whole life knowing that there is a time for you to die.
“Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Third, make good use of whatever time you have.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).
